[gallery] My kinda lucky day :) Unlike 9/11 13 years ago when tragedy happened in US or 9/11 last year when tragedy happened in my life, 9/11 today I got so much blessings, praise the Lord! Lucky #1 : Morning, had tiramisu coffee treat by Shirley in Starbucks Lotte while we’re having chat and topic discussion for the next posting in LiveOlive.com Lucky #2 : Noon, had fun girls talk over lunch with TarQ besties Detha & Antie in Sushi Tei Lotte. I’m so lucky that I got triple treat! First, it’s Sushi Tei’s bday so they offered 20% off for any colored plate, just for today. Second, it’s my bday this month so they give us a bday sushi cake. Third, Detha gave me Bodyshop Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist as bday gift ^.^ Lucky #3 : Afternoon, first time experience with @GrabTaxiID service for FREE from Lotte to Grand Indo. Yep, they have one full week free ride promo from Kuningan-Sudirman-Thamrin area. You can download their apps in your iOs or android devices and try their service. Funny ...
[gallery] Si kk baru pertama kali nyoba outbond, biasanya dia takut nyoba tapi kali ini tumben dia sendiri yg minta. Jadi kita hargai kemauannya dengan menuruti permintaannya. Awalnya dia kesenengan tapi begitu mulai melangkah di atas langsung ketakutan. Kita terus semangatin dia dari bawah. “You can do it M!” “Lihatnya lurus ke depan aja” “Pegangannya lebih ke atas lagi” Rintangan demi rintangan berhasil dia taklukkan, dan begitu selesai semuanya dia teriak kegirangan. “I can do it!! I’m not afraid anymore! Now I successfully beat my fear!” Yes, proud of you dear :) with Natali at Pulau Situ Gintung ( Restaurant & Kolam Renang ) – View on Path .
[gallery] So, here’s to answer the question of my previous post. What I would do, is not only spending time, but also creating moments to remember with my precious ones. Spent the whole day swimming and having fun at The Jungle, had early dinner in Rumah Sumsum, played guessing games along the way home, and watched Frozen in Fox Movies at home. It ain’t as fancy as riding limousine in Las Vegas, sunbathing in the famous Santa Monica beach, strolling around Beverly Hills, taking pics in Hollywood Walk of Fame as I experienced it all on my birthday last year.. But one thing for sure: I feel home. And it’s more than enough to thank for. with Natali at The Jungle Bogor – View on Path .
[gallery] Last year I was in Las Vegas and Los Angeles on my birthday. Left Treasure Island Hotel in Vegas Strip and had road trip to California with great view along the way, then went to Santa Monica pier directly. Got a surprise birthday treat from Carlos, our LA’s local host. He asked: “What would you possibly do today if you’re in your hometown now?” I didn’t have firm answer at that time, as everything was uncertain. But now, I surely do have :) – View on Path .

Journey to the Peace of Mind

*Fair warning: please have an open mind to read this post. If you think you can’t, quick, close the window. Only God may judge me. Thanks :) On my birthday last year, hubby asked from 9000 miles away: “Mommy, are you happy?” One simple question that costs a complicated answer. One week after that, a drama happened that made me think of filing for a divorce. Turned out, we resolved the problem with one condition: I demand a marriage counseling with expert. He agreed, and we stay together up to now. But I had to deal with a collateral problem: 5 stages of grieving. Denial-Anger-Bargaining-Depression.. before it finally reach Acceptance. The longest stage was the fourth. I was in and out of hospital for several months. Headache, stomache, heartburn, GERD, psychosomatic, and other sympthoms that doctor couldn’t even analyze. It costs me a lot and I’m sick of it. I don’t want to spend more time & money for treatments & medicines that couldn’t cure me to the root. I need ...
[gallery] So.. My 5 year preschooler drew this wrecking ball and confessed that she watched the original video with her 7 year old sister. You know, the video of Miley being totally naked swinging on the ball :| My natural reaction as a mom was of course to be startled. I was tempted to judge her for doing wrong, but I know it’s not the wise thing to do. So instead, I sat side by side and made a casual conversation with her just like a friend. Me: “What do you think of the video?” Her: “I closed my eyes because it looks embarrassing” Me: “Why is it embarrassing?” Her: “Because the person doesn’t wear clothes” Me: “Do you think it’s right to watch it?” Her: “No” Me: “Why” Her: “Because it’s for adults not for kids.” At this point, she just realized what she did was not right. Then suddenly she begged me not to tell daddy, because she’s afraid daddy will be angry. She did it with kitten eyes that made me laughed out loud :)) I already told her dad before that but she doesn’t know....
ARE YOU WITH THE RIGHT PARTNER? During a seminar, a woman asked,” How do I know if I am with the right person?” The author then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, “It depends. Is that your partner?” In all seriousness, she answered “How do you know?” Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it’s weighing on your mind replied the author. Here’s the answer. Every relationship has a cycle… In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn’t hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn’t have to DO anything. That’s why it’s called “falling” in love. People in love sometimes say, “I was swept of my feet.”Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU. Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months...

[gallery] Year end rituals: cleaning up and re-organizing things. It gives a good time for contemplating and rearranging priorities. Sometimes we don’t realize what we got until we treasure them. Sometimes we don’t realize what we lost until we found them. Sometimes we keep things that we thought could be useful someday. Sometimes we don’t want to let go things that we don’t use anymore, for the sake of its memories. Yet it’s amazing how time can simply turn our valuables into trash, and how our trash could be someone else’s treasure. What matters, stay. – View on Path .
[gallery] They say, HOPE is: Hold On, Pain Ends But sometimes, pain never ends unless we eliminate hope Hope for the love that never return Hope for the people that never come back Hope for the past that can never be present Understand that there are impossibilities in this world, and some of them could be those we were hoping for Never say never, especially to “Never loose hope”

Backwards

My terrace door was locked for several days. I’ve been trying hard to open it but always failed. The harder I pushed the key to the right (open direction), the strongest it seems to stuck. The door was left unopened, and all I got was hurt in my fingers. Today I desperately tried it one more time. I pushed it hard, and again, failed. But suddenly, out of nowhere, I had an idea to pull it backward. I turned it to the left (lock direction), it is locked even deeper. Then I turned it to the right, twice, almost without effort, and voila! The door is successfully open! My mom once told me a story when she was in Makkah. There’s an old couple who fought hard and everyone in the camp knows. The next day, the man brought the woman food, as a gesture of apology, although without saying sorry verbally. The woman, who were still offended, refused it. Mom gave her an advice, “Keras jangan dilawan dengan keras. Jadinya hancur.” The same advise should’ve been given to me 12 years ago. I thought I’v...

2013 - Experience & Lessons Learned

2013 was such a roller coaster year that it took quite some time to think, write down, edit, and finally publish. 2013 was also about dreams come true. I’m often overwhelmed by my own wishes, it seems to always find its way to be fulfilled. Must be extra careful about what I’m wishing for.. Coz God always listens and answers our prayers.. Sooner or way later. That’s what 2013 taught me. HIGHLIGHTS Done LASIK in KMN Kebon Jeruk in January. One of the best decisions ever taken, after 4 years of consideration. Now I can see very clearly without glasses or lenses. Refilled my self-love buckets by semi-solo traveling (read: without hubby). Visited Situ Gunung (and dreadful ojek experience in Curug) in May, one day trip to Belitung Island also in May, dolphin hunting in Teluk Kiluan in June, and happily stranded in Karimun Jawa for a week in July. Refreshed relationship with hubby by spending time together in Bangkok (on wedding anniversary), Singapore (stay in Marina Bay Sands and dip in th...
[gallery] While checking my tumblr archive for writing my 2013 reviews, I found this post and overwhelmed.. Just realized that in just 7 months after that, I really got what I wanted. I did swim in that infinity pool with hubby and stayed in that Marina Bay Sands hotel for 3 days. I actually forgot totally that I’ve ever posted that. But the law of attraction just magically worked out. Amazing :) nuniek : Where is it? I want!

About Boredom

When we almost arrived home after new year staycation today, hubby asked me: ”Do you ever get bored with me?” I turned to him and asked him back: “Do you ever?” which he responded quickly, “Of course not.”  Before I had the chance to answer, we arrived home and the conversation discontinued as we were busy clearing things off from the car.  He didn’t seem eager to continue the conversation, perhaps he’s just not ready IF I give him an ugly truth.
[gallery] Ahpoong Sentul If you happen to pass by Sentul, in between Jakarta and Bogor, then do drop by at Ahpoong Sentul City. You won’t regret it! You’d be happy to spend time there with family or your loved one. Very nice ambiance, lotsa choices of delicious Indonesian food & beverage. If you drive, I suggest you park inside Belanova Mall, because parking lot in front of Ahpoong itself is so small and almost always full. Besides, the mall has direct access to Ahpoong via beautiful bridge. Good spot to take pics :)) Furthemore, you’ll also experience EcoArtPark just before you reach Ahpoong at the end of the bridge. You & your kids could enjoy some artistic statues, experience science features, observe some plants and animals. My kids scream out loud when they see lotsa snails! From EcoArtPark, cross the yellow bridge to get you to Ahpoong. There, you have plenty choices of Indonesian & international food to try. Getting a seat could be tricky though, especially during lu...

[gallery] Seeing this, I just remember my Indonesian male friend once said, “In general, only American men want to marry American women because they’re too independent and exalting equality. And in general, Japanese men only want to marry Asian women because they always want to be served on everything.” And tonight I just had conversation with American guy who said, “My first days living in Indonesia, I’m so mad because I lost my freedom to do everything by myself. I become dependent too much on everyone: driver, maid, office boy, everyone!” Cultural diversity.
[gallery] Google Indonesia actually has been in Jakarta since March 2012. But just recently they moved to a new office in Sentra Senayan II, 28th floor. Honored to be among their first guests last week (27Nov13). Google offices always keep the startup feel & spirit. There’s no boundary between any level, all googlers are equal. Even the CMO’s desk is right beside an intern. And unlike most offices in Jakarta, Google Indonesia has no office boy. So everyone is responsible to clean up their mess. Every part of the new office is amusingly cozy, as you can see it from the pics above. They made it that way on purpose: so that the googlers feel free and comfy to work in any part of the office. Fyi, they dont have absence system. Their laptop is their office, they can work anywhere they want. Every corner is beautifully designed with local ornament. The main Google logo behind reception desk is decorated with batik stamp maker. Why not batik fabric? Well, apparently because there is Googl...
