Posting Without Scrolling and Other Small Victories
Last night, I went to bed at 2 AM. Not ideal, I know. At 7 AM, my bladder staged a coup and forced me to wake up. I shuffled to the bathroom, sat there like a queen on her porcelain throne, and opened my laptop, thinking I’d just check something quickly. Famous last words.
Before I knew it, three hours had passed. But here’s the twist: I wasn’t doomscrolling. Nope. I've been hiatus on social media for almost 3 weeks now, remember? Instead, I figured out the holy grail of social media sanity: posting on Instagram without getting sucked into the endless scroll. Not even a hint of what other people were posting. The secret weapon? Meta Business Suite.
It lets you schedule and post content without even opening the Instagram app. No “just one quick look” that turns into a black hole of reels and memes. Plus, there are neat automation tools, analytics to geek out on, and scheduling options that make me feel like I’m running a proper content empire. Maybe (just maybe) I can return to social media without letting it eat my brain cells for breakfast. We'll see.
While riding this small productivity high, I decided to share something important with my friends:
The flood of kind messages and prayers that came in was humbling. I felt seen, loved, and supported. I also set up an auto-reply for social media:I’m currently on a social media detox, saving my brain from brainrot 🧠🚫
So if I don’t reply here, don’t take it personally ✌

At 10 sharp, I jumped into a meeting with Llia, our Startuplokal initiator dialing in from Australia, who was presenting Magicblocks.ai. It's an AI-powered tool that puts AI sales agents on websites to boost conversions. I could instantly see the potential for MnV Properties. Anything that makes sales smoother without burning out humans gets my vote.
Then came lunch. Luckily, I had frozen marinated chicken from Titipku, which I tossed into my beloved retro mini oven-slash-airfryer. Ten minutes at 200°C, flip, another ten minutes, flip again, and a final five minutes at 230°C for that perfect crispy skin. The smell alone was intoxicating. When I bit into it, wow... pure bliss!
After handled tax, property paperwork, and signed some documents, then picked up my daughter from campus and dropped her off at the mall for a friend’s birthday. With time to kill, I watched Indonesian movie Panggil Aku Ayah adapted from Korean movie, Pawn. I started smugly muttering “Ugh, Stockholm syndrome” under my breath, but twenty minutes later, I was a mess: crying, laughing, and silently applauding the incredible acting.
Still in waiting mode, I squeezed in a quick wash and blow-dry at a salon. Tomorrow I’d be in front of a camera, and I refuse to let bad hair ruin my legacy. Dinner at the food court followed, while waiting for my eldest to return and my youngest to finish eating at her dorm. We then picked her up and headed home.
The car ride turned into an unexpectedly deep conversation. We talked about my upcoming surgery, her plans for university, her dreams, her worries, everything. I reminded myself to just hold space. Not to jump in with solutions or lectures unless invited. Because the last thing I want is for my kids to carry their fears alone simply because I didn’t give them a safe space to share. At the end of the day, we’re supposed to be their HOME.
So here I am, ending this long but full day with a head full of gratitude and a heart that feels both tender and strong. Life isn’t always tidy. It’s messy, unpredictable, and often served with a side of crispy chicken and unexpected tears in a cinema. But if we can keep finding small victories (like posting without scrolling, cooking without stress, or creating moments where our loved ones feel safe), then maybe we’re doing just fine.
Go make your own small victory today. And please, for the love of your bladder, take bathroom breaks on time.
Cheers,
Nuniek
