What a wildly packed, contrast-heavy Saturday! We kicked off the day heading over to Alam Sutera to pick up a few things at Vintage Vibes before making our food pilgrimage to Porky’s in Gading Serpong. The food was as delicious as ever, though standard damage for two came out to around 350k IDR. A bit pricey, but the place was buzzing as usual. I remember when they first opened we never had a chance to get a table!
After lunch, we popped by Prelude in Gading Serpong, a music school owned by our friends Lukas and Nia, for a very specific mission: rehoming my eldest child’s preloved bass guitar. She requested it with so much enthusiasm for her 17th birthday, only to play it a grand total of three times in three years! Since she’s heading off to the UK soon and space in our apartment is precious, letting it go was a no-brainer. Thankfully, Lukas took it off our hands. We even got treated to gelato right outside Prelude while catching up with Lukas about his upcoming book on mindset. And wow, that conversation got delightfully deep. Bonus: catch up with their cute mini pom pom puppy Milo! Such a delight to hold Milo <3
By 2:30 PM, it was pamper time at Seminyak Gading Serpong. I got the Seminyak 3 package (a 90-minute authentic massage and scrub), while my husband opted for a 90-minute deep tissue massage. It was our first time trying this branch instead of our usual spot at Pasar Modern BSD. Pasmod BSD still holds the title for quality, but it was still a solid unwind.
We rushed back hoping to catch my favorite sunset reading slot, but we stepped inside just as the last bits of sunlight disappeared. Oh well! While my husband charged the Tesla, we strolled to a nearby street stall for a humble dinner of gudeg. Mine was 17k IDR, his was 20k IDR with shredded chicken, and along with crackers and sweet tea, dinner for two came to a grand total of 45k IDR.
Dinner was ultra-budget, but dessert was peak luxury: a single tray of Alex’s (@amrazing/@omalexy) famous 1.4 million IDR brownies! After weeks on the waitlist, it finally arrived, and honestly? Absolutely divine.
To top off a great day, my second daughter finally received her official UI yellow jacket (so proud!). Later, I caught up via chat with my eldest, who is staying at her grandparents', planning our upcoming trip for the art illustration exhibition at Agora and some 17an festivities in Kota Tua.
How's your weekend going?
