We were meeting Okki Sutanto there with his wife and child. He came all the way just to hand-deliver his newest book: Yang Tak Terkatakan tentang Menuju Dewasa. Super thoughtful. And honestly we feel so privileged, getting to read it before it’s even officially released. Congrats once again, Okki!
After lunch we slipped over to Cotti Coffee for a bit, then dropped the youngest back at her dorm. On the way home we of course made our signature stop: the gorengan stall in front of the Amaris Hotel. Some rituals just shouldn’t be skipped.
At night, my husband and I went to pick up our eldest after she finished hanging out with her friend at AEON BSD. She’d gone to Comifuro with a rolling suitcase and a giant bag full of her stuff, and by the time she was done it was already around 9.
We’d actually been waiting to hear if she wanted to grab dinner together, but she already did. And by the time we arrived, most places were already closing. So we dropped her off at the apartment and then continued our hunt for food.
Originally we planned on Pasar Modern BSD, but hunger made the decision for us. We saw Mie Gacoan and just turned in. The food was the usual Gacoan, cheap and predictable, but I honestly didn’t enjoy how smoky it was. Semi outdoor plus lots of people smoking. Also the crowd didn’t feel like the usual BSD vibe. Sorry but also not sorry.
Anyway, that was my Sunday.
