Some days are just packed to the brim with a little bit of everything: business meetings, pampering, family milestones, and pure fun.
The Kuningan City Shuffle
Around 10 AM, hubs, our eldest, and I headed out to Kuningan City. Hubs had an 11 AM mentoring session with a local startup, which gave the kiddo and me the perfect excuse for some long-overdue quality time. We ducked into Yopie Salon for a joint pedicure, something we’d been planning forever but only just got around to doing. So relaxing, and cost both of us only IDR 170k total! So we can splurge more on tip.
We both wrapped up right around 1 PM, just as hubs finished his meeting. For lunch, we gathered downstairs at Lotte Mart. The food section there has gotten a massive upgrade lately, it seriously gives off major AEON food court vibes now! I went for classic bakso, our eldest grabbed some Japanese rice rolls, and hubs tried a mentai dish that turned out to be a total flop. Win some, lose some!
By 1:30 PM, it was time to head up to VFS on the 2nd floor for our eldest’s visa biometrics. She handled it all on her own, leaving us to hold onto her bag since bags aren't allowed inside.
While she was getting processed, hubs and I grabbed a table at Coffee Bean for a 2 PM catch-up with Pak Ivan from the Global Entrepreneurship Network. We’ve known him since... 2014, I think? We got lost in an exciting conversation about the future of startups and upcoming collaborations with Startuplokal. Around 3 PM, our eldest joined us at the cafe, grabbed her bag, and headed home on her own while we wrapped up our meeting until 4 PM before heading back to the apartment.
Pool Tables and Mix-Ups
By evening, I was starving again! We went down to the food court, met up with our old friends Dipa and Udhien, and grabbed a delicious plate of Gado-Gado Boplo.
Post-dinner, it was game time: billiards! Accompanied by No Na playlist on screen. It got livelier by the hour, but let’s just say hubs and I got absolutely wrecked. Dipa and Udhien played like total pros and handed us a brutal 6-1 defeat! Before calling it a night, we gave them a mini tour of our apartment facilities: gym, sauna, jacuzzi, whirlpool, pool, outdoor fitness area, jogging track, BBQ spot, the works.
We walked them out through the mall, said our goodbyes, and then... cue the mini-drama!
As it turns out, I was accidentally holding onto Udhien’s earphones. Ours are the exact same model, and when hubs handed them to me earlier in the dimly lit pool room, I just assumed they were mine. It was way too dark to tell black from dark navy! Luckily, Udhien hadn't gone far when he realized that his earphone was not with him and called me, so I sprinted back down to bring it back to him.
By the time I made it back to my room, I was so utterly spent that I crashed straight onto the bed without even changing or washing my face, pure exhaustion!
...Until 2 AM, that is. Hubs finally finished coding and came down, which woke me right up. I went to toilet and sent link of google photo album from our pool game tonight to the group. Right on cue, JC popped up from across the continent: "Wih blm molor Bu?"
"Kebangun Pak" (while he's actually one year younger than me, lol). I asked whether he already did his daily workout, he said he's about to take a nap due to exhaustion from yesterday's double workout.
Ah, the quirkiness of global time zones and old friends. But, time to actually get back to sleep! Zzz
