Today was a public holiday (Maulid Nabi), which meant zero urgent agendas and total santuy (chill) vibes!
Because I went to bed way too late last night, naturally I slept in a bit this morning. I started my day with my usual routines and then just zoning out on the balcony, enjoying the quiet morning. But then JC, being the playful "pesterer" that he is, pushed me to go work out. So, fine! Let’s hit the gym!
I tackled another 30-minute HIIT workout by Caroline Girvan. Goal achieved! 💪
Post-workout routine? Sauna time! This was day 2 in a row. They set the temperature hotter than usual today, but surprisingly, I managed to stay in for about 20 minutes. The only reason I stepped out was that my phone literally overheated to the point of shutting down, haha!
From the sauna, I hopped into the warm jacuzzi whirlpool... which actually felt cold because my body temperature was already toasted like a roast chicken 😆. Finished off with a refreshing cold shower and shampoo, feels soooo fresh!
Breaking the Fast: Rawon & Mushroom Satay
I got back to the apartment around 11:45 AM. My daughter was lounging around and my husband was glued to his PC watching something. Since I was starving and ready to break my intermittent fast, I immediately rallied the team for lunch!
We went to Rawone, a place recommended by Udhien. Even though it's super close, we drove because I was too lazy to walk in the scorching midday heat right after washing my hair. Udhien was right, the beef chunks were huge and the broth was rich and flavorful. But honestly, their mushroom satay (sate jamur) so surprisingly good! Total bill for the three of us was around IDR 200k, pretty reasonable for a hearty lunch in a decent restaurant.
Lazy Afternoon & Meal Prep
After heading back, my husband and kid went straight into work mode on their new startup project. As for me, I prepped meal boxes for my kid for the next 4 days! 🍱
Later in the afternoon, I brought my book down to the poolside to get some reading done. Even though I went down a bit late, it was still super nice and breezy.
Rush Hour Dinner: The IDR 43k Warteg Jackpot!
We originally planned to grab dinner around 7:00 PM. But at 6:30 PM, panic struck: I remembered I had a Zoom call at 7:30 PM! 😱
I rushed my husband and daughter downstairs for a quick dinner. We went to a warteg (local food stall) that is closer to our apartment. To our pleasant surprise, this one was brighter, super clean, came with free iced sweet tea, and was shockingly cheap: all three of us ate well for a grand total of IDR 43,000 (less than $3 USD!).
WIH40s Book Anthology Project 2026
Back at the apartment, I set up for my 7:30 PM Zoom call: the kick-off/coordinating meeting for the Woman In Her 40s (WIH40s) Book Anthology Project 2026, led by my co-founder, Bunga Mega.
What I love meeting with Bunga, she’s always sat-set (swift), straight to the point, concise, and structured. I’m super excited to co-author this book alongside amazing women, sharing reflections and stories from our 40s. I believe every woman truly has a story worth sharing.
After the Zoom call wrapped up, I did a quick check on emails, travel arrangements, and property stuff. And now... writing this blog post.
I definitely need to head to bed earlier tonight so I can wake up fresh tomorrow!
Until next time,
Nuniek
