For most people, Monday is the busiest, most chaotic day of the week. But for me? It’s completely the opposite. Monday is my slow, peaceful, and absolute favorite day.
Here is how my Monday went, and why I love this day so much!
A Very Slow Morning
I didn't even wake up until 8 AM! I eased into the day with my usual morning ritual: prayer, reading the Bible, daily devotional, and journaling in my diary.
After a quick morning hug for my husband when he woke up, I drank a bottle of cold water mixed with Himalayan salt and pure lemon juice. I needed a natural oral electrolyte mix to recover from last night's diarrhea episode. Thankfully, by the time I finished my morning routine, my stomach felt so much better!
Around 10:00 AM, I went downstairs to keep my husband company while he had boiled eggs for breakfast before his back-to-back meetings. Since I practice intermittent fasting, I skipped breakfast and focused on getting lunch ready.
Cooking on Mondays is super simple, basically just reheating and letting smart technology do the heavy lifting! I warmed up our salmon soup in the slow cooker (which also doubled as a steamer for some meatballs on top) and boiled some eggs in an automatic egg cooker. No standing over the stove required!
Diarrhea Doesn’t Stop the Workout!
Around 11:00 AM, I hit the apartment gym. Diarrhea wasn't going to stop me from moving my body! I hit my daily target of a 30-minute HIIT workout following Caroline Girvan. I love mixing and matching a few different videos depending on what my body needs that day.
Post-workout, I headed straight to the sauna. I usually tap out after 5 minutes, but I pushed through for the health benefits and managed to stay for a full 20 minutes this time! Proud moment.
After sweating it out, I jumped into the warm jacuzzi whirlpool for another 20 minutes while catching up on my phone, followed by a super refreshing cold shower. I originally wanted to read in the changing room lounge, but it was almost 1:00 PM and my husband was already waiting for lunch!
Lunch, Love, and Clean House Magic
I got back to our unit around 1 PM, and what a sweet surprise: my husband was already waiting, had emptied the dishwasher, and filled up our water bottles in the fridge!
Starving, I served up our warm salmon soup, meatballs, and 3 tablespoons of rice. (Totally forgot to eat the boiled eggs, haha!).
After lunch... well, let’s just say we burned off some extra calories together 😉 (if you know what I mean, lol).
Right at 2:00 PM, my husband get back to work and the Cleansheet team arrived to deep-clean our penthouse unit. I intentionally cook on Mondays because they clean all the kitchen appliances that can't go into the dishwasher. Honestly, this is one of the main reasons why I love Mondays: stepping into a fresh, spotless, and amazing-smelling home afterward is bliss!
Poolside Vibes & A $3 Dinner
While the cleaners finished up around 4:00 PM, my husband and I went down to the poolside. My husband was surprised by how relaxing it was to chill on the poolside sofas, yes it honestly felt like being at a beach resort! It was breezy, cool, and super peaceful since weekdays are so quiet. He ended up scrolling on his phone for a bit and immediately fell asleep, lol. Meanwhile, I got to finish a chapter of Limerence.
Around 5 PM, our daughter finished her schoolwork, so the three of us walked over to a local warteg for an early dinner. We ate until we were completely stuffed, and the total bill for all three of us was only 49,000 IDR (around $3 USD)! My daughter was genuinely mind-blown by how cheap it was.
After dinner, we popped into Alfamart to pick up some toothpaste. I had 5 vouchers worth 100k IDR each, so we used one voucher and got 3 tubes of toothpaste (Pepsodent Sensitive was buy 1 get 1 free!), batteries, and snacks without spending extra cash.
Winding Down
Back at the apartment, I took my daily dose of creatine and collagen peptides, then settled in to watch an Indonesian movie called Tunggu Aku Sukses. The acting and storyline were pretty solid and entertaining. I folded and sorted our fresh laundry while watching.
The only downside was I ended up going to bed way too late because I got caught up tidying random things around the apartment and replying to group chats. Lesson learned for next time: turn off screens earlier and take more time to properly wind down!
All in all, it was a beautiful, restorative start to the week. Love it <3
