I decided to skip my morning workout today. I knew I had to conserve every ounce of energy for Ideafest at JCC, especially since the plan involved braving both the KRL commuter line and the bus. But first things first: breaking my fast! We stopped by our go-to warteg. You know, the one where the iced sweet tea is completely free.
After hopping off the train, catching a bus, and a short walk, we finally made it to JCC, only to be greeted by a massive line. The main event is watching Maluku’s rising star, Governor Sherly, being interviewed on the Kick Andy show.
My husband constantly shares her Instagram posts. He actually wanted to ask her a question during the session, but sadly didn't get picked 😅. Interestingly, after listening to her responses, my husband noted that she might not be quite ready for the presidency just yet.
Out of all the Q&A moments, the one that stuck with me most was when Andy Noya cheekily asked who one of the questioners in the audience was. Ibu Sherly casually replied that it was her "DATE" friend. Not a romantic date, but her komsel (cell group) mate! Wait, does that mean Ibu Sherly is part of the JPCC congregation too? Do they even have a branch in Maluku, or is she just in Jakarta that often?
Anyway, once her session wrapped up, I somehow got sidetracked at the Audy Dental booth. I ended up getting a quick dental check and a hair styling session, walking away with discount vouchers and some fun free goodies.
We spent the rest of our time roaming the bazaar. We snacked on Mango donuts (which were surprisingly delicious!) and bought a cute outfit for our youngest. Right before heading out, we grabbed some fried chicken at the JKTGO bazaar on the lower ground floor, which was super duper crowded.
Just as we were walking out the doors, we literally bumped into our friend Okki Sutanto, who was scheduled to speak later in the day. We couldn't stay to watch, though, we had to rush home before 4 PM to dodge the dreaded commuter crush of office workers clocking out.
We made it back to the apartment by 5 PM. I immediately headed down to the poolside with a good book, watched the sunset, and happily snacked on the oranges my husband so thoughtfully peeled for me last night 🌅.
Back at home, after having dinner, we made discussion with our daughter and her grandparents. Since her student visa has not been issued yet, we decided to reschedule her ticket to a week later. Thankfully we can reschedule it with 36k Krisflyer miles and IDR 436k only.
And how about us? We already bought Andre Rieu's concert tickets since last year, so the show must go on: hubby and I had to go first without our daughter! It's a consequences that she has to take for missing an important email for 8 days.
But the blessing in disguise is, since we don't have to fly with our daughter, that means we can buy flight tickets from other airlines, which is HALF the price from the original SQ that we initially planned for! It's like God was trying to say to us: here's better plan, so you can save more, daughter and son. LOL.
