Surat Terbuka Untuk Pak Jonan

Halo Pak Jonan,

Perkenalkan nama saya Nuniek Tirta Ardianto, ibu 2 anak (dari 1 suami, hehe), pengguna setia
layanan transportasi berbasis online yang  baru saja semalam  resmi bapak larang.  Pertama  kali    membaca berita itu melalui linimasa sosial media, sungguh saya
berharap bahwa itu hanyalah berita bualan dari media online abal-abal yang
sering membuat  sensasi demi meraih  traffic. Namun sayangnya tidak.  Bapak benar-benar telah menandatangani  Surat Pemberitahuan
Nomor UM.3012/1/21/Phb/2015
  yang melarang pengoperasian
“kendaraan bermotor bukan angkutan umum dengan menggunakan aplikasi
internet untuk mengangkut orang dan/atau barang “ dengan alasan tidak memenuhi ketentuan  Undang-Undang
Nomor 22 Tahun 2009 Tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan serta Peraturan
Pemerintah Nomor 74 Tahun 2014 Tentang Angkutan Jalan.

Dalam sekejap, seisi  linimasa penuh sumpah serapah. Segenap  warga dunia maya Indonesia kecewa.  Tak terkecuali
saya, yang sejak membaca berita itu tadi malam belum juga bisa tidur sampai
pagi ini. Karena agama saya mengajarkan jangan berbuat dosa ketika
marah, dan jangan memendam amarah sampai matahari terbenam, baiklah saya
tuliskan ini sekarang.

Pak, kita  sama-sama tahu bahwa tidak ada yang abadi di dunia ini
selain perubahan, dan sejarah membuktikan bahwa menentang perubahan adalah
sia-sia. Perkenankan saya ajak Pak Jonan memasuki mesin waktu, dan menerawang
masa-masa di mana inovasi yang membawa perubahan begitu ditentang… 

Ø  15 September 1830,
 kereta  api
penumpang pertama kali resmi beroperasi
. Raja Inggris yang
meresmikan jalur Liverpool - Manchester saat itu banyak menuai protes dari para
petinggi; para tentara takut nanti prajuritnya jadi pada malas, para tabib
khawatir nanti ibu-ibu hamil bisa keguguran, bahkan para pejabat khawatir nanti
keretanya bakal meledak. Manalah mereka kepikiran  kalau 134 tahun kemudian
orang Jepang bisa bikin  kereta  peluru
alias Shinkansen
  yang mampu melesat sampai 130 mph. Ah, saya
percaya sebagai mantan Dirut PT KAI bapak pasti sudah pernah tahu cerita
sejarah ini dong ya. Lanjutt…

Ø  Tahun 1986, ketika  ATM pertama kali digunakan di Indonesia oleh Hong Kong Bank dan
Bank Niaga
, tidak terlalu banyak yang mau memakainya untuk
bertransaksi, hingga awal 1990an. Saya masih ingat ketika salah satu stasiun
radio membahas secara khusus kehadiran ATM dan dampaknya terhadap masyarakat.
Salah satu yang paling melekat di ingatan saya adalah ketika penyiar mengatakan
bahwa kehadiran ATM ini bisa memicu pemborosan, karena masyarakat dapat
mengambil uang sesuka hati mereka, dan ini diamini oleh para pendengarnya.
Belum lagi kekhawatiran mereka soal keamanan.  Sekarang, ada 90 juta pengguna ATM di seluruh Indonesia, bahkan
diprediksi tahun depan menjadi 125 juta.  Banyak yaaa. 

Ø  Tahun 1994, internet pertama kali hadir di Indonesia  dibawa
oleh IndoNet selaku ISP komersial pertama di negeri ini. Lagi-lagi pro
kontra tentang perubahan ini dibahas di radio, kali ini saya ingat
betul  radionya adalah Prambors. Kala itu, penyiar bertanya kepada
pendengar tanggapan mereka tentang pengaruh internet terhadap anak muda.
Concern utama tentunya adalah masuknya pornografi di kalangan muda melalui
internet dan pergaulan bebas. Ada juga yang khawatir tagihan telepon
membengkak, maklum jaman itu masih pakai dial up :)) Sekarang, saya dan  88 juta pengguna internet di Indonesia  menikmati
betul  manfaat positif internet

Ø  Tahun 2000,  layanan SMS (Short Message Service) mulai marak di Indonesia.
Wah senangnya Pak, saya bisa SMS-an sama gebetan pakai HP Nokia banana warna
warni yang paling hits saat itu :) Karena baru bisa sesama operator, ada lho Pak
gebetan yang bela-belain beli nomor baru yang waktu itu harganya masih ratusan
ribu (tanpa pulsa! #eaaa =)) Baru setahun kemudian dibukalah SMS lintas operator,
dan lagi lagi terjadi pro kontra. Karena saya memang penggemar radio, kembali
lagi mendengar bahasan topik SMS lintas operator ini di radio. Yang pro senang karena
komunikasi semakin lancar. Yang kontra bilang kehadiran SMS lintas operator ini
berpotensi bikin orang-orang jadi tidak peduli sekitar karena asik SMS-an.
Manalah mereka tau kalau tidak sampai satu dekade kemudian orang-orang lebih
asik main FB dan twitteran =))

Sekarang mari kita kembali ke dimensi saat ini, Desember 2015… Di mana
Menteri Perhubungan Republik Indonesia mengeluarkan kebijakan melarang penggunaan
segala layanan transportasi berbasis online. Apa artinya? Artinya… Mungkin
saya terpaksa harus mempekerjakan
sopir lagi dan menambah kemacetan Jakarta dengan mobil pribadi
 , sebab
angkutan umum yang legal seperti angkot dan metromini sangat tidak memadai. Tapi
bukan itu, bukan itu poin yang membuat saya prihatin dengan keputusan sepihak
tanpa sosialisasi dari Bapak.  

Yang lebih membuat saya prihatin adalah… Bagaimana nasib 200.000 pengemudi gojek12
ribu pengemudi Uber
,  2000
pengemudi GrabTaxi
, dan ribuan pengemudi ojek konvensional lainnya yang tiba-tiba
kehilangan mata pencarian, menambahkan jumlah 7,2
juta pengangguran di Indonesia
. Bagaimana nasib ribuan karyawan penyedia
aplikasi online tersebut. Bagaimana nasib sopir Uber yang mengantarkan saya ke
mampang, yang terpaksa banting setir dari pemilik perusahaan menjadi pengemudi
untuk menyambung hidup karena perusahaannya bangkrut… Dan ribuan orang lainnya
yang tertolong hidupnya berkat kehadiran berbagai aplikasi online ini.

Pak, bagaimana sesuatu dapat dikatakan melanggar peraturan, kalau aturannya
sendiri saja belum ada. Bapak sendiri yang bilang “Ojek
nggak bisa disebut transportasi umum karena nggak diatur dalam undang-undang,”

Namun sekarang bapak justru membuat peraturan yang mematikan rejeki ribuan orang
dan melawan perubahan jaman. Ada baiknya Bapak mengamati sikap
elegan Menteri Transportasi Singapura
terkait masalah sharing economy concept yang dibawa Uber dan GrabTaxi:

Some countries, like Germany, have banned
uber and its likes.  Some like, New York, tried to ban it at first but have
now decided to hold back in response to commuters’ unhappiness.  I think
they have over-reacted and have been hasty in their judgement on such new
business concepts. A balanced approach is called for.

We
must not resist new innovations and new business models.  Our instinct
must be to flow with the time, keep an open mind to innovations.  But we
must always be fair to players, whether incumbent or insurgents, and strike a
balanced approach.”

Perlu dicatat, itu Singapura lho Pak, negara yang terbukti sudah mampu menyediakan sistem transporatasi massal yang memadai bagi rakyatnya. Sedangkan Indonesia… Ah, sudahlah. 

Semoga saja, ketika beberapa tahun ke depan saya membaca kembali tulisan
ini, saya sudah bisa tersenyum sendiri mengingat how funny an over-reaction could be when one is facing a new innovation
that brought changes to people’s life, like those stories on our time-travel
above.

What I Learned from Timothy Tiah - Founder of Nuffnang

Last Sunday when I entered VIP room at JWEF , I was introduced to this guy with his mini version boy on his lap, and his pretty wife with white top and red skirt. Waiting and Celebrating

This morning was wonderfully slow, the kind of slow where time doesn’t feel wasted but savored. Everyone in the house had their own lazy rhythm. No alarms, no rush, just soft hours unfolding. By two in the afternoon, we finally left for Pondok Gede to check our first house.  We had it lightly renovated: The old, tired canopy was taken down, so the two-story house could breathe and look elegant again. The walls and fence got a fresh coat of white paint, giving it that “new beginnings” look. The cracked tiles were replaced, no more tripping hazards waiting for unsuspecting guests. Staycation, Wedding Edition

Less Fighting, More Understanding

Sunday mornings have this magical way of stretching out slowly, like they don’t want to end. This morning was one of those slow mornings, the kind where the house hums gently, everyone moves at their own pace, and there’s no rush to do anything other than exist. What's the point of wealth?

Sometimes the mind gives up long before the body does. And sometimes, the body quietly follows the signals the mind keeps whispering. Catatan penting: untuk mencapai pemahaman penuh, mohon klik dan baca setiap tautan.  Awalnya adalah pertanyaan . Going Home with a 270 Million Bill and a Prayer

Thursday, August 21, 2025 This is it! The day I finally got discharged after 10 nights in the hospital. After surviving ESWL for kidney stones + laparoscopy for appendix + mini laparotomy for myom and uterus removal.  In the morning, Dr. Eko came by with the golden ticket: “You can go home today.” And previously, Dr. Ong team also said the same. Finally! I’d been waiting for that sentence like a kid waiting for recess. Of course, it’s never as simple as “the doctor said I can go home.” Nope. There’s a whole backstage performance involving the nurses, admin, pharmacy, and let’s not forget the insurance company. Meanwhile, my husband was busy running back and forth between the hospital room and the car, carrying bags, while I reminded him, “Don’t forget to buy bread for the nurses and staff.”  Doctor on duty replaced the dressing on my laparoscopy wounds, but left the laparotomy one alone. A Series of Plot Twists

Today felt like an indie film directed by the universe itself. Every scene had a sudden   plot twist , and I was just the confused yet slightly amused main character, improvising my way through. Plot twist number one: I was supposed to go to Jakarta Premium Outlet to find something to wear for Saturday. But! My husband suddenly had an offline meeting. Plot twist number two: I wasn’t planning to join him, but he suggested I come along and wait at a café. Better than being home alone, I thought.
